Please check the videos page for the YouTube links to US and World Champions' showcases for an idea of what West Coast Swing looks like.
West Coast Swing is a linear partner dance, with technique centred around 6 and 8 beat patterns, and weight change footwork. It is danced to a wide variety of music.

It is characterised by a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension-compression technique of partner connection, and is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor. The dance allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together.
